Older than 2-4 weeks
Older babies are far more alert and posed photos are generally not possible. If your baby is older than 12 days we can book a Lifestyle Session or unposed Natural Session in your home. A full Session is approx. 3hrs long. Even if baby is not ready, I highly suggest booking the full session to make sure we have enough time booked. We do require your baby to be well rested and relaxed that is why the full session is 3hrs, it will take lots of time to calm baby, feed baby, change baby or just wait for baby to fall asleep.
All props, limited newborn outfits and tiebacks are available for this session. My style is pure and simple. The focus will be on your beautiful newborn not props. I mainly use cream, white and earth tones some wraps we have in colour.
I absolutely LOVE Newborn Sessions and I also have four children myself. I DO NOT DO composite shots (that is with baby's hands holding their head up) I only pose the baby in natural safe ways. We take our time at your session and we do not rush this session.

Location ~ Your Home or our home studio
Your Home: Your newborn session can take place in the comfort of your own home. I’ve been told many times by parents that they appreciate this so much. In the first few days after baby is born, it can be tough to leave the house and get everyone ready for a photo shoot. Because the shoot takes place in your own home environment, you will be more relaxed and able to enjoy the experience. I will bring everything needed for your session, and will have a few props with me in a space that is close to a large window with beautiful natural light.
OUR Studio location in Lacombe, AB has a lifestyle living room to embrace each other. A lot of families love this as well, as you just come and relax, no house to clean or prepare. OUR style is relaxed, with a family involved approach with a wrapped baby. We have our area set up with desired props, wraps and sets for newborn.

For family sessions, we offer a warm and inviting setting, with sibling and family photos taken on a beautiful cream rug and our cozy living room set. If opting for a lifestyle newborn session in your home, we provide props and wraps to complement your family's unique style.
Upon booking, you'll receive a detailed session guide to help you prepare, along with a questionnaire to customize your session with up to 3 color choices and special requests. Secure your due date with a 25% deposit and get ready to capture the joy of new beginnings.

These sessions are typically booked in the second trimester - get your date on the calendar to secure your spot. The perfect session to create a beautiful diverse gallery of baby and family photos. This session is approximately 2 to 3 hours long. The longer session allows plenty of time to get baby sleepy for those adorable shots. This is a classic newborn session, capturing on all the tiny details.
Baby will be wrapped for these images.
Sibling photos are either taken on a beautiful cream rug, followed by family photos. Family photo are captured on our beautiful backdrop
This session includes 20 high-resolution images you select from an online gallery.
Upon booking we will send over a details session guide to help you prep & prepare for your session & what to wear. Deposit of 50% is to secure your due date, and get on the calendar.

About our newborn packages
Additional Information
We have a beautiful collection of baskets, props, headbands, blankets, wraps to make your gallery beautiful and diverse. Newborns are normally 2 to 14 days old for a Lifestyle newborn session. Although! I do believe a newborn session can be done up until 4 months new.
Please note: If your baby is older than 4 weeks, they are generally more awake. We have a different routine, please contact us if you have questions
Newborn sessions are held on weekdays only
There is a 50% non-refundable deposit due when you book to secure your spot. The owing is due 3 days before your session. We only book a certain amount of newborn sessions per month to ensure availability. After you secure your spot, please ensure you contact us when baby arrives! We will then be able to set a time and date. If baby is in special care, please let us know so we can make plans (weekend spots can be opened up in this case).
Upon booking, we will send over a style guide, tips & tricks for your newborn, sibling & parents. We are here to guide you from inquiring to booking.

What is a cake smash session
What is a cake smash session you ask? Well, it is a milestone photo shoot that typically occurs when the child turns one year old where they are presented with a cake to eat or smash or both. Cake smash sessions are a fun way to celebrate the milestone of your little baby turning one. Babies at the age of one are bursting with curiosity and exploration. Most things they encounter on a daily basis are new to them. New toys to play with, new food to eat, new environments to explore, new people to meet. This session is a great way to capture that curiosity along with the expression that comes along with it. The cake itself is often new to babies at this age which lends itself to the perfect set up to capture that curiosity, exploration and delight (or disgust).
As with any of my sessions, you have the option to have the cake smash session with a traditional backdrop set up. With either, the session with be child led. By that I mean that we will go at your kiddos pace. Cake smash sessions are about capturing personality and letting your child do that through play. Now that you have a better understanding of what a cake smash session actually is, let’s take a look into what a cake smash session is with me in particular.

Pre-Cake Smash Photos: Capture those adorable moments before the cake-smashing begins. These precious pre-smash photos set the stage for the excitement to come.
Cake Smash Photos: Watch your baby's eyes light up as they explore and enjoy their cake. These cake smash photos are bound to be filled with laughter, curiosity, and mess!
Gallery of 40-55+ Images: You'll have a gallery bursting with 40-55+ high-quality images to choose from, ensuring you have plenty of precious moments to cherish.
High-Resolution Images: The session includes 25 high-resolution images that you can select from an online gallery. Should you wish to have more images, each additional one is priced at $35. Alternatively, you can upgrade to the Full Gallery for $275 includes colour & black & white.

Theme Planning
When you book a cake smash session with me the first thing that will do is to discuss your vision for the shoot. Do you have a theme in mind? Do you have inspiration pictures saved on Pinterest? Are there certain shots you absolutely want to try to get? We will discuss all of these questions and more. This will ensure we are both on the same page for the day of the cake smash session.

BACKGROUND SET UP, PROPS, & OUTFITS
Choose timeless and classic items. Your cake smash photo will be treasured for years to come, so we go with clothing that is timeless and classic. Will you still like what you’re baby is wearing ten, twenty, thirty years from now?
After we have landed on the theme and I have a full understanding of your vision I will put together the rest. My studio is stocked with props and different backdrops that I will use to make your vision come to life. If there are specific props that you want to bring, please do! I will have the backdrop set up when you arrive and we can make any adjustments with any additional props or accessories you bring along.
Trying to decide what your little one will wear for a cake smash session can be challenging. Since this is a cake smash session and it often gets messy, some parents opt for the diaper only look or diaper plus accessories.
SCHEDULE YOUR CAKE SMASH SESSION KEEPING NAPS IN MIND
Naps or bedtime should always be top-of-mind when scheduling a cake smash session. The idea of these sessions are to capture your childs personality so we want to make sure that they are well rested. If your child is on a schedule and naps every day at a certain time of day, I will work around that schedule. If your child is not on a schedule but tends to be the happiest during certain portions of the day, let’s be sure to schedule the session during that time.
LET THEM BE A LITTLE HUNGRY
I always recommend that you feed your child before they come to a session so they are not starving and fussy, however with cake smash sessions sometimes it can be beneficial if your child is slightly hungry. Still feed them of course, but if they are still a bit hungry when they get to the shoot, they may be more likely to dig into the cake. If they’ve just eaten a full meal, they may not be as interested in eating more when they see the cake.
BRING THEIR FAVORITE SNACK
If you are worried that your child may be shy about digging right into the cake, have your baby’s favorite snack on hand. Puffs, Cheerios, yogurt bites, crackers, etc. whatever is their “ always makes them happy” snack, bring those along. We can hide those little snacks in the icing or part of the cake to encourage them to really dig into that cake.
